Epping Forest Guitar Group

EFG play classical and acoustic guitar in an ensemble format every Tuesday at 7.15pm-9.15pm at the Roding Valley High School Drama Studio, Alderton Hill, Loughton, Essex IG10 3JA. Parking is available behind the school next to the drama studio. 

Please proceed slowly and carefully around the school.There are about 30 sessions per year and our guitar teacher and musical director is Jiva Housden from Guildhall School of Music. 

Membership Costs

The annual fees are currently £300 p.a. or if joining part way through the year pro-rata at £10 per class. We have 3 x 10 week terms per year. If you are interested in playing with us please get in contact!

Playing Level and Style

We have classical players and acoustic players, nylon and steel string, good sight-readers and not-so-good sight-readers who like to to use tab when possible. The 'level' in ABRSM terms is probably 3-8, so pretty wide.
We play predominantly classical pieces with some more jazzy, bluesy and folksy numbers.
